The murder of 25-year-old Spencer Golvach by an undocumented Mexican national – repeatedly thrown out of the country for multiple criminal convictions – lit a political firestorm over illegal immigration that has not abated.

Spencer Golvach waited for the green light at a Houston intersection. An undocumented Mexican national — repeatedly thrown out of the country for multiple criminal convictions — pulled up next to him, pointed a pistol at Golvach’s head and pulled the trigger. The killing lit a political firestorm over illegal immigration that has not abated.
