Thanks to the innovative ideas of a few lead teachers, the fast-growing district of South Fayette, Pa., has transformed the way its students and teachers approach learning. Students solve those smaller problems with STEAM, a take on the traditional STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields, but with the addition of โ€œart.โ€ Bringing music, architecture, drawing, and other art subjects into the overall learning strategy means students apply problem solving in every subject, and their test scores prove substantial academic gains.
