Perry Names New Communications Director

Gov. Rick Perry went to Boston for his new communications director, hiring Felix Browne, who worked for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, to replace Mark Miner, who is leaving the governor's staff to work in the private sector. 

In announcing the change, Perry said Miner would continue to advise him from his new perch. The governor also hired Hugh Addington to handle scheduling and advance work in his government office. Addington replaces Karen Kolb Steakley, who will return to the governor's legislative division. 

Miner has gone back and forth between the public and private sector several times, most recently returning to the governor's office after a stint on Perry's last presidential campaign.
