Texas Homebuilders Back Dewhurst for Re-election
To go along with news Monday that Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst received the endorsements of three major Texas homebuilders organizations — the statewide, Dallas and Houston associations — his re-election campaign released a video celebrating his support of low government regulations.
“In his 10 years as Texas Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst championed policies and actions that provided a stable foundation for our state’s growth and made the Texas economy second to none," said Robert Wood, the chairman of HOMEPAC, the statewide association.
Dewhurst has three challengers in the March Republican primary: state Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston; Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples; and Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson. State Sen. Leticia Van de Putte, D-San Antonio, will oppose the winner in the general election.
