Nicole Shealy recently graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in journalism. She has interned for Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine, WTOP Radio in Washington, D.C., and covered sports for The Daily Campus, the SMU school paper. She also worked on the Daily Update, SMU's student-run news show.

Touting a new program as the first in Texas to be directed at reducing preventable diseases, Texas A&M University officials on Tuesday announced their Healthy Texas Initiative, which will first launch with a focus on South Texas.
