Jose Menéndez is the Texas State Senator for District 26.
He is serving on the Criminal Justice, Higher Education and Intergovernmental Relations committees. He previously served as vice chairman of the State Affairs Committee and on the License and Procedures committee.
Menéndez is the national director for emerging real estate markets for Stewart Title Company.
He was first elected to The house of Representative to serve District 124, in 2000.
Menéndez cites his legislative priorities as public education, housing and economic development issues, and the state's operating budget.
He is a former vice chairman of the San Antonio Zoning Commission and has served the boards of Keep San Antonio Beautiful, San Antonio Life Directions, Inc., the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, and served as chairman of the San Antonio Community Revitalization Action Group I & II.
Menéndez graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1987 and earned degrees in Business Administration and Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
He and his wife, Cehlia, have three children, Dominic Michael, Victoria Elise and Austin Maxwell.
