The Ticket was a weekly look at presidential politics from a Texas perspective in the leadup to the 2016 election. It included veteran political reporters Jay Root of The Texas Tribune and Ben Philpott of KUT News. Find it on SoundCloud and StitcherMore in this series

This week, the Tribune’s Jay Root and KUT’s Ben Philpott taped The Ticket before a crowd at KLRU’s historic studio 6A, former host of the iconic TV show Austin City Limits.

While the crowd was waiting on the third presidential debate, we talked about the future of the Republican and Democratic parties in Texas with Burnt Orange Report Publisher Lize Burr and Deirdre Delisi of Delisi Communications.

And because we know some people have been a little stressed out by this election, we invited some local comedians to lighten the mood.
