What: The Texas Response to Zika
Who: The Texas Tribune and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas present the next in an ongoing conversation series on where the state is headed on health care. In this installment, several experts will discuss the state’s response to Zika, the latest infectious disease scare — what the government is doing, what the health care universe is doing and what we as citizens can and should be doing. The panelists will include: state Rep. Myra Crownover, R-Denton, chairwoman of the House Public Health Committee; Christopher Frei, associate professor and division head for the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and gubernatorial appointee to the Texas Task Force on Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response; Binh-Minh "Jade" Le, assistant professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center; and Zachary S. Thompson, director of Dallas County Health and Human Services.
