Microsoft Acquires, Reshapes "Minecraft" in the Classroom

After purchasing the popular video game "Minecraft" late last year, Microsoft has announced that it has also acquired "MinecraftEdu," a classroom-focused version of the game.

After purchasing the popular video game "Minecraft" late last year, Microsoft has announced that it has also acquired "MinecraftEdu," a classroom-focused version of the game. A revamped version, called "Minecraft: Education Edition," will debut later this year and will feature new tools for students and teachers, such as a library of lesson plans, help forums and unique student login accounts.
