San Antonio Water Project Hits a Snag
Progress on the San Antonio water transfer project, known as the Vista Ridge pipeline, has hit a snag as critics continue to raise concerns about its environmental impact and the lack of transparency about the cost of the $3.4 billion project. No construction has started on the project, which will stretch 142 miles and could provide more water to areas in the Hill Country and other communities along Interstate 35. The city is looking to expand its water sources beyond the Edwards Aquifer and plans to sell the excess water it doesn't need from the pipeline to other entities in the region.
