New data shows New York City public schools have seen a drop in the number of students who are either required to attend remedial classes during the summer or had to repeat a grade.

New data shows New York City public schools have seen a drop in the number of students who are either required to attend remedial classes during the summer or had to repeat a grade. The drop comes after a state law passed in April 2014 that requires school leaders to take multiple factors — not just test scores — into account when deciding if students should move on to the next grade.
