In Areas of High Need, Preschool Delivered Door-to-Door
Though research continues to mount in support of the positive impacts of early childhood education, many communities face unusually high hurdles to providing adequate access to preschool. But rather than sponsoring in-school programs within struggling districts, some programs are delivering services directly to children and their families. Home visits by specialists from nonprofit Save the Children focus on teaching parents to be their child’s in-home preschool resource. (Los Angeles Times)
