Four Cancer Charities Accused of Fraud
Calling it one of the largest charity fraud cases ever, Federal Trade Commission officials and regulators from all 50 states have accused leaders of prominent cancer charities of running “sham’’ organizations that misused millions of dollars intended to benefit patients. Only 3 percent of the donated funds were spent on cancer patients, according to a complaint filed by the FTC. (The New York Times)
