<p>After a protracted search, Austin Independent School District&rsquo;s Board of Trustees named <a href="http://impactnews.com/austin-metro/cruz-named-austin-isd-superintendent/">Paul Cruz the district&rsquo;s first Hispanic superintendent</a>. Cruz earned his doctorate in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin&rsquo;s College of Education. Cruz is a veteran of AISD and its management team, having previously served as interim superintendent and chief schools officer. (<em>Community Impact</em>)&nbsp;</p>

After a protracted search, Austin Independent School District’s Board of Trustees named Paul Cruz the district’s first Hispanic superintendent.
