New Bilingual Education Focuses on Dual Mastery, Heritage
Research continues to suggest that dual language education does not restrict a learner’s ability to excel in English as a second language. In New Mexico, programs that support native Spanish speakers’ connection to their native tongue also ensure they meet and exceed English academic standards, and attempt to strike a balance between the two.
