Gov. Rick Perry will heed the call of the Cockaboose this week as he packs some politicking and the Texas A&M season opener into a two-day swing through South Carolina.

On the heels of a weekend trip through New Hampshire, where he came face to face with a roasting pig, Perry heads to the Palmetto State on Wednesday, where he will lend his presence to the South Carolina Republican Party's Victory Tailgate party, The (Columbia, S.C.) State reported.

Perry has an early start on Thursday, appearing at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event at 7:30 a.m. That will be followed by a noon hour fundraiser at Doc's Barbecue for GOP state Rep. Kirkman Finlay.

On Thursday evening, he plans to take in the season opener for his beloved Texas A&M Aggies, who will line up against the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. The State notes that Perry will catch the game from a Cockaboose, which are train cabooses converted into luxury tailgate facilities located yards from Williams-Brice Stadium.
