North Texas Cities Cut Water Usage
When Tom Kula, executive director of the North Texas Municipal Water District, asked the 13 cities that belong to the district to cut their water use because of drought conditions and an expected hot summer, there was a surprise. Seven of the cities, including Plano, the district's largest city and largest water user, had already cut their water usage more than 20 percent after enacting their own conservation programs.
