David Alameel, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate held by John Cornyn, has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars this month to air his first television ad of the 2014 cycle around the state.

David Alameel, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate held by John Cornyn, has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars this month to air his first television ad of the 2014 cycle around the state.

In the ad, Alameel calls for withdrawing the remaining U.S. troops in Afghanistan and investing the savings on domestic needs such as education.

Alameel is in a five-way primary for the Democratic nomination.
