Hundreds of educators, lawmakers and parents from across the state descended on the Capitol Saturday to protest cuts to public education.
U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, state Sens. Leticia Van de Putte, D-San Antonio, and Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, state Reps. Donna Howard, D-Austin, and Mike Villarreal, D-San Antonio, and State Board of Education member Thomas Ratliff, R-Mount Pleasant, were among the elected officials who spoke.
Last year's rally, during the height of the legislative session, drew an estimated 13,000.
