On Thursday, for our latest TribLive conversation, I interviewed the Waxahachie Republican who chairs the House Appropriations Committee about the budget shortfall, the possibility of new revenue sources, whether Joe Straus will retaliate against members who opposed him and whether Tea Party threats should be taken seriously.

I've pasted three extended video clips from the interview below: about the Tea Partiers in his district who opposed him (some of whom he pronounces "uninformed"), his supoort for legalized gambling as a way to bring money into the state's coffers and how the Rainy Day Fund should be used in dealing with the shortfall.

Audio of the full interview can be found here.
