Ads Infinitum: "We Texans" v. "Banksters"

If you'd prefer "lies and corruption," Debra Medina invites you to vote for "career politicians." Otherwise, she would like you to vote for her.

A still image from Debra Medina's fall TV spot

Times are getting tough for the Texas flag.

In Debra Medina's first television ad, she was presented in front of a clean, gently waving flag.  In her latest effort, "Experience," the flag behind her looks noticably dingier and frayed as it is whipped by the digital wind.

The commercial will begin airing on Sunday in Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.  It will air primarily on Fox News with a bit of CNN thrown in.

The spot focuses on Medina's experience — which is not with "the corporate lobby, Wall Street, and federal banksters."  Her experience is in "fighting corruption, not being a part of it."  She lists among her relevant experience "knowing and understanding the U.S. and Texas Constitution" and "living within my means."

If you'd prefer "lies and corruption," Debra Medina invites you to vote for "career politicians."  Otherwise, she would like you to vote for her — or as she says, "Vote 'We Texans!'"

("We Texans..." is a theme on Medina's website.)

Here's the full script:

"Some people have asked about my experience.  I've no experience or participation in the corruption and the games that the corporate lobby, Wall Street, and federal banksters play with our elected officials.  My experience is in fighting corruption, not being a part of it.  My experience is in business and making a living as a citizen.  Therefore, I align myself with and understand what the people of this state are going through.  My experience is in knowing and understanding the U.S. and Texas Constitution and the rights that are enumerated in those documents. My experience is in living within my means and balancing a budget, not passing debt to my children and future generations. My experience is in honor, loyalty, and living up to my word.  If you want lies and corruption, then vote for career politicians. If you want someone to fight with you to defend the U.S. Constitution and the great state of Texas, then vote 'We Texans!' Vote Debra Medina for Governor!"
