Some in GOP Fume as Top Texas Officials Stick With Trump

Top GOP officials in Texas — including Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn — have condemned Donald Trump's words but not withdrawn their support. That's angering younger Republicans who fear the party is being sacrificed by officeholders scared of Trump's base.

Showdowns Loom in Congress, and Texans Will Have Starring Roles

Gov. Rick Perry will have to spend part of his Halloween in an Austin courtroom. Perry was excused from a pre-trial hearing on Monday, but he must be at the next one, the presiding judge in the case determined.

Abbott, Cruz Blame Obama for "Humanitarian Crisis"

Warning of the dangers faced by undocumented and unaccompanied children crossing the border into the U.S., Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday called on the Obama administration to more strictly enforce immigration laws.
