Antarctica's network of lakes, rivers and streams may affect the stability of the underlying ice shelf and offers clues to rising sea levels, according to a recent study. Researchers say the flow of lakes and streams formed by melting surface water seems to act as a draining system that may protect the ice shelf. (The Verge)
