It's no secret that Texas is growing... and growing fast. In just one year, nearly half a million people relocated to the Lone Star State. Electricity is an essential part of our everyday lives, so this population boom is creating a need for significantly more power — fast.
Our region is positioned to create thousands of new jobs and boost economic development, but our success relies heavily on sufficient power.
Entery Texas' answer to this time-sensitive challenge is our six-step Southeast Texas Energy Plan called STEP Ahead. This plan is our long-term strategy to ensure our communities have reliable power where and when they need it to support rapid growth.
Even as we invest in our state's growth, we remain focused on our commitment to deliver reliable power at an affordable price. We take this responsibility to heart, and as demand for electricity rises, we know it's more important now than ever to keep your bills as low as possible.
This is our home, too, and most of us at Entergy Texas are customers just like you. Whether you're a grocery store owner, a school administrator, managing your household's expenses, or overseeing a hospital or manufacturing plant, we understand that every dollar in your budget matters. That's why we're proud to say our rates have been consistently among the lowest in the Lone Star State for the last decade, and last year our rates were 17% below the national average.
One way we're doing this is by adding new, more efficient power generation resources that will save customers money while keeping our grid reliable. We have completed more than 85% of construction on the Orange Country Advanced Power Station, a state-of-the-art facility slated to come online in summer of 2026. The plant will be able to power more than 230,000 homes while saving customers more than $1 billion during its lifetime. And we recently received regulatory approval to build two additional highly-efficient generation resources — the Legend and Lone Star Power Stations.

As we continue to build more modern power plants to meet Southeast Texas' energy needs, we remain dedicated to affordability. We keep rates below the national average through a balanced approach that includes regularly reviewing base rates, securing fuel at the lowest possible prices, and passing those savings directly to customers.
Our participation in MISO — the Midcontinent Independent System Operator — allows us to share resources among a large pool of member utilities that stretches from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, saving Entergy Texas customers more than $600 million between 2014 and 2024.
We also provide bill management tools to help customers take control of their energy use and partner with community groups and government agencies to ensure vulnerable households receive the support they need.
At Entergy Texas, we understand that delivering electricity is more than just keeping the lights on. It's about powering your lives, your homes and your communities. We're grateful for your trust and support as we work to strengthen the grid today and prepare for the grid tomorrow.
As we continue to expand and upgrade our electrical infrastructure to ensure Southeast Texas has the reliable power it needs to grow, our commitment to you, our customers, will always remain our highest priority. Together, we can deliver a stronger, more sustainable energy future for our communities.
