State lawmakers may need to design a new school funding method, thanks to a recent judicial ruling that again found Texas’ school finance system unconstitutional. The state plans to appeal the decision, but supporters say the ruling is a victory for the more than 600 school districts that sued the state over the Legislature’s drastic 2011 public education budget cuts.
