President Obama delivered his 2016 budget proposal to Congress on Monday. Notable recommendations included a $3.6 billion increase in discretionary funds for the Department of Education, a $750 million preschool development grant program and a $1 billion increase in Title I funding. In addition to funding, the White House also suggested increased measures for monitoring education-related outcomes and the efficacy of various charter school models. (Wall Street Journal)ย
