Perry Alagappan, 18, of Houston, has invented anย award-winning filtering device,ย built from graphene nanotubes that removes 99 percent of heavy metals from water.ย The new device, which helps decontaminate e-waste produced by discarded consumer electronics, won the Stockholm Junior Water Prize at this year’s World Water Week.
