Schools like the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow, an online charter school headquartered in Ohio, make huge profits on diverted federal and state funding for its students, but experts say these online schools have not lived up to expectations. The profit margin may not be as alarming to education advocates if graduation rates were not consistently poor.
