The 1.7 million veterans who call Texas home are watching closely to see which presidential candidate shows what it takes to be the next commander-in-chief of the armed forces. While some veterans say they favor Republican Donald Trump’s boldness, others see promise in Democrat Hillary Clinton’s steadiness.

There’s support among Texas veterans as well for Libertarian Gary Johnson, who promotes a limited domestic policy and a more hands-off role for the United States abroad.
