The 2025 legislative session has been one of the most consequential for Texas schools and libraries in recent memory. On Wednesday, the Texas Tribune recorded its weekly podcast, The Tribcast, at the downtown Austin Central Library to discuss what happened and look ahead toward the impact on Texas schools and libraries.
The Tribune's editor-in-chief, Matthew Watkins, and law and politics reporter Eleanor Klibanoff were joined by public education reporter Jaden Edison along with Christine Mihealsick, AP Environmental Science Teacher at Westwood High School and NBCT 2025 Texas Teacher of the Year.
