With Election Day one week away, several questions loom over Texas. The results up and down the ballot will determine whether Texas officials become part of the new presidential administration, influence whether Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan gets another term leading the lower chamber and highlight the issues animating the races for the state’s highest courts.
Texas Tribune politics editor Rebekah Allen moderated a conversation that tackled those — and several other — 2024 election topics with democracy reporter Robert Downen; Renzo Downey, lead writer of The Blast; and politics reporter Jasper Scherer.
You can watch the conversation, which also tackled the U.S. Senate race between Ted Cruz and Colin Allred, in the video embed above.
