Election renews interest in civic education
The controversial election of Donald Trump is being used by many educators to reawaken their students, regardless of their political views, about the importance of civic knowledge and engagement in public affairs. Some states are pushing to make high-school students pass a civics quiz before graduating, while new online games such as iCivics are being used by educators to teach students about their rights as citizens.
