Bill would transfer ownership of San Marcos riverbed to city
A bill pre-filed for the upcoming state legislative session by state Sen. Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, would transfer ownership of the riverbed and banks of the San Marcos River from the state to the city of San Marcos. Proponents of the bill say it would allow the city to better protect the river and the fish, plants and wildlife that it sustains. (Community Impact)
