High school graduation rate hits record high
According to new federal data, the nation's high school graduation rate has reached a record 83.2 percent, continuing a steady increase that demonstrates gains across all racial and ethnic groups. Despite the increase in the graduation rate, national reading and math test scores are declining as are average scores on SAT and ACT college entrance exams. (The Associated Press)
