What: SWIFT Funding Workshop on Water Conservation Projects. Experts will discuss conservation programs and their participation in the SWIFT application process, with an emphasis on the role of conservation in the future water supply for the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

Who: Hosted by the Sierra Club, Lone Star Chapter; Texas A&M Agrilife Research; Texas Living Waters Project; Meadows Center for Water and the Environment; Texas Water Foundation; and Rio Grande Regional Water Planning Group (Region M).

Speakers include: state Rep. Eddie Lucio III, District 38; Tomas Rodriguez, chairman, Region M Water Planning Group; Juan Landivar, director, Weslaco Research and Extension Center; Tom Entsminger, state programs coordinator, Texas Water Development Board; Carlos Rubinstein, RSAH2O and former chairman, TWDB; Jennifer Walker, Sierra Club, Lone Star Chapter; Bill Moriarty P.E. and Tom Hoover P.E., cities of Keller and Bedford; and Jonathan Kleinman, president, Aiqueous.
