What's the Texas take on the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton? Watch along with us and tell us what you think, using the hashtag #TXWatching2016.

Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump are facing off in the 2016 presidential election.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will go head to head tonight in what some predict will be the most-viewed presidential debate in history — and we want to watch along with you.

The debate, moderated by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, will start at 8 p.m. and will be broken up into three categories: "America's Direction," "Achieving Prosperity" and "Securing America." We'll be watching the debate along with our friends at KUT 90.5 and the LBJ Library's Future Forum, and we invite you to join our conversation on Facebook and Twitter.

Here's how you can participate:

  • RSVP to this Facebook event to join our watch partywhere we'll post links to debate streams and Facebook Live videos with analysis from The Texas Tribune’s Jay Root, KUT’s Ben Philpott and Texas Politics Project Director Jim Henson.
  • Watch the debate at 8 p.m. on TV or online: Twitter, Facebook and YouTube will all be carrying live coverage, along with several news sites
  • Share your thoughts on the debate with us on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #TXWatching2016.

Let's get the conversation started: If you were a moderator tonight, what question would you ask Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton?

Texans need truth. Help us report it.
