Despite Underperformance, Test Scores Improve in California
Although less than half of all Californian public school students who took this year’s state standardized test actually met the state’s learning goals, officials are pointing to progress over last year’s test results. Increased state funding also has impacted schools at a local level, and teachers and parents are hopeful the positive trend in test score achievement points to larger, long-term gains.
