More Data Could Allow Schools To Better Help LGBT Students
A policy brief released by The Equity Project at Indiana University has revealed a critical gap between the challenges faced by LGBT students at school and the resources available to schools to know how to intervene on those students’ behalf. Because most schools do not collect data on students’ sexual or gender identities, it is impossible to monitor problems like higher rates of disciplinary action, bullying, or other hardships faced by LGBT students.
