Interim Education Secretary Confirmed To Full-Time Post
Despite the partisan gridlock that has become the norm in Washington, the U.S. Senate has confirmed John King Jr. as education secretary. King, who took over as interim secretary after his predecessor, Arne Duncan, retired last year, received praise from both sides of the isle for his performance in office thus far. U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., joined colleagues in supporting King, saying his early efforts to overhaul student loan regulations shows a commitment to solving real problems in education. (Boston Globe)
