Scientists are searching for innovative solutions for cleaning plastics, including particularly troublesome microplastics, from the world's oceans and beaches. Computer models show that plastic debris is creating ever-growing hot spots along five subtropical rotating ocean currents in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. (Vox)
