Endangered Wild Rice Making a Comeback in the San Marcos
Progress in restoring the endangered Texas wild rice that grows in the San Marcos River has been greater than expected, as a result of efforts by the volunteer group Conservation Crew and other organizations that have joined up as part of the Habitat Conservation Plan. The growth of the endangered plants has fostered improvements in a number of other endemic species as well, including the San Marcos salamander. (The University Star)
