Stories from Staff and Family at a New Charter School
The opening of yet another alternative charter school in one of New York City’s most troubled neighborhoods, Brownsville in Brooklyn, means little without the personal stories of its founders. Ascend, with just 66 students and five highly qualified instructors, hopes to offer a safe and supportive place for all members of its extended family, from these founding members to its future graduates.
