South Carolina Floods Highlight Stormwater Problems
The heavy floods that devastated South Carolina this month revealed a nationwide water pollution problem: the stormwater that washes pollutants from cities and farmlands into lakes and streams. Following a settlement with the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Environmental Defense Center, the EPA is working on new rules that will govern urban stormwater runoff. (Circle of Blue)
