"Texas Flood" Wins the Texas Water Safari
The victor of the Texas Water Safari, a 260-mile canoe race along the San Marcos and Guadalupe rivers to the Gulf of Mexico, was a team paddling the appropriately named Texas Flood — with a time of 34 hours, 58 minutes. Known as "the world's toughest boat race," this year's competition was postponed two weeks due to the Memorial Day floods. (Victoria Advocate)
