The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas has awarded a record-setting $4.8 million preventive grant that will fund a colon cancer screening initiative. The state-funded agency has also awarded a $1.49 million grant to provide breast cancer prevention and screening services for women in rural and underserved areas of North Texas.
