In his new book, Rac(e)ing to Class: Confronting Poverty and Race in Schools and Classrooms, H. Richard Milner addresses the need to openly confront issues of race and racism in schools. Building on research that proves confidence and pride in one's race improves education outcomes, Milner seeks to help educators explore and discuss race, both with other teachers and their students.
