Bill Filed to Deal With Tubing Parties on the San Marcos
Residents along the San Marcos River, who have had to cope with noise and litter from partying tubers, are getting some help from state Sen. Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, who has filed a bill to create a water oriented river district (WORD). The district, which would pay for litter cleanups and extra law enforcement, would be governed by a seven-member board from precincts in Guadalupe and Caldwell counties that border the river.
