Ultrasounds Show Fetal Reaction to Maternal Smoking
A small British study produced dramatic ultrasound images of fetuses reacting to mothers who smoke, compared with those who don’t. The findings produced a new round of calls for smoking restrictions during pregnancy. The findings indicate that the development of the central nervous system in fetuses exposed to cigarettes could be delayed. (TIME)
