Teen Recounts How Overcoming Odds Led to College

College freshman Terrell Dixon recently returned to his alma mater to share his story of success with students at Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School in the Bronx. Dixon recalled transitioning from a mindset of apathy to one of determination and optimism. By absorbing advice from YouTube, taking advantage of local opportunities for at-risk students like himself, and allying himself with a teacher and mentor, Dixon found success in school and in life.
