Former President George H.W. Bush was released on Tuesday from Houston Methodist Hospital, where he had spent a week after experiencing shortness of breath.

Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement that Bush “is now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care.”

The 41st president, 90, was hospitalized for nearly two months in late 2012 and early 2013 for conditions including bronchitis.
